It requires knowledge regarding various fields like Finance, Marketing, HR Management including Sports Talent, Technology as well as Legal insights.

Coaches and trainers’ education is always considered integral for development of sports. However, with the advent of technology and artificial intelligence, the conventional education models are evolving. Nations producing high sports performance continuously have effectively introduced technology and analytical know-how. They have integrated them with periodization and sports science support and developed coaches through continuous professional development module without diluting the structured long-term courses.

Sports Science Education is related with performance enhancement as it evolves around evaluation, recommendation, validation and augmentation of physiological parameters and sporting skills. It involves Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology, Injury Prevention and Performance Evaluation.

OPPORTUNITY:

Sports as an Industry not only provides opportunities to convert passion into profession. It is a major employment provider and revenue generator; hence the Indian Government is mulling to give Sports the status of an Industry soon. The multifaceted sports industry requires technically skilled human resource for governing bodies, sports authorities, organizations, clubs, academies and service providers. Coaches are required for all levels starting from grassroots to adult both for recreational and elite spectrum. The infrastructure, equipment, event, logistics, are all integral to sports and provide employment opportunities. The player management and dispute resolution have a legal aspect in the sports field. Performance enhancement and Injury Management are both sports related segments and provide opportunities in private and government sectors.

The Government’s initiatives to focus on sports through Khelo India, Fit India, talent identification and multiple Centre of Excellence under SAI or even AIFF and SAI collaboration to develop football are important indicators that sports will generate more and more opportunities and to grab it quality education, qualification and expertise has to be possessed by each individual who wish to work in this ecosystem.
